A Guide to Pleasanton Coffee Shops
Inklings Coffee
Inspired by the adventure stories of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, a peek inside this beloved hallmark among Pleasanton coffee shops reveals the sort of atmosphere most writers could only dream about, it’s complete with dark wooden furnishings set beneath an intricately designed ceiling, comfortable seating, aesthetic books, of course, rentable private rooms – more pointedly, old-world charm meets cozily procured sophistication in a splendid crossover that devoted java farers and digital, WiFi-enabled nomads alike can appreciate.
Beyond coffee, Inklings offers kombucha on tap, unique teas, and pastries from local bakers. Their signature drinks menu includes delicious amalgamations such as the nitro cold brew enriched Vanilla Cold Fashioned and lemonade and lavender-infused Coffee Shandy.
The Press Cafe
Thanks to its spacious layout, stylish design, and many tabletops, The Press Cafe is an amazing destination for coffee dates with friends. From espresso-induced delicacies like the Graham Cracker and Honey Mint Lattes to matcha to fresh-squeezed orange juice, there’s an energizing beverage for everybody to enjoy here.
Definitely arrive with an appetite as all of their food products are locally sourced from fresh markets and chosen to ensure the kitchen is always serving the freshest in seasonal, natural, and organic ingredients. Gluten-free bread, vegan soups, and vegan meals are available!
85oC Bakery
Conveniently situated just off I-580, 85oC Bakery specializes in fresh bread baked every hour, the store has over 60 different varieties of breads inspired by European, Asian and Danish trades. When it comes to your morning fix, rest assured that every coffee is made with freshly ground espresso beans and shots are brewed to a perfect symphony.
The founder of this popular, ever-growing business, Mr. Cheng-Hsueh Wu visited a cafe in a 5-star hotel back in 2003 and while treating himself to some gourmet pastries and drinks, he realized that the prices were set way too high for people to enjoy on a whim. From that moment, Mr. Wu has envisioned a shop that provides premium coffee, bread, and cake at affordable prices.
Downtown Cafe
Snuggled among Main Street storefronts is Downtown Cafe, a cute little breakfast and lunch spot serving great coffee alongside traditional American and Mexican dishes. If brunch has been long overdue, and you’re looking to get your weekend morning started off on the right foot, keep in mind, they do have Mimosas!
Peet’s Coffee
One can find this Peet’s location, among their several Pleasanton coffee shops, in the heart of downtown. The reliable work and gathering environment features plenty of tables to sit down at and stay awhile, there’s also a nice outdoor patio area shaded by umbrellas.
Alfred Peet wasn’t trying to start a coffee revolution when he set up shop in Berkeley back in 1966. He just thought Americans deserved a real cup of coffee. Five decades later, his lone store has since blossomed into 200, each holding true to his vision: sourcing directly from the world’s finest estates, hand roasting to order in small batches, and making sure every cup is brewed as fresh and full-flavored as possible.
