A Guide to Fredericksburg Coffee Shops
Caliche Coffee Bar and Ranch Road Roastery
Residing within an adorable little cottage that was once a local beer shack, Caliche is an aesthetic standout among Fredericksburg coffee shops, by way of its bright bohemian atmosphere, warm earthy tones set against minimalistic white walls, wooden furnishings, spacious outdoor patio, and convenient amenities for a productive cafe day. On a food-related note, satisfy your early morning cravings with any of their mouthwatering menu items, which range from avocado toast to burritos to eggs benny.
Furthermore, all the coffee served here is thoughtfully roasted in-house by Ranch Road Roastery, which got its start back in 2011 when Daniel roasted his first batches of coffee on the stake bed of an old 1946 Ford truck – the same one used to get goods to market!
Kaffee Haus
Near and dear to the heart of downtown, Kaffee Haus offers guests cozy homestead vibes accentuated by its hardwood floors and ceiling, unique exposed stone wall, festive decor, cute seating arrangements, and glass storefront that’s perfect for people-watching. The picturesque decor serves as an accomplice to expertly crafted, rewardingly delicious beverages made with locally roasted coffee, as well as homemade baked desserts that suit a wide variety of dietary needs.
The attention to detail that has gone into designing this cafe with a delightful balance of charm and utility makes it an easy go-to for long-overdue coffee dates or solo study sessions.
Twisted Sisters Bake Shop
Bringing a unique style to Fredericksburg, Twisted Sisters gets its name from what can be viewed as the delectable “twist” that gets put on their otherwise traditional snacks. That being said, though the menu frequently changes in order to feature new sweet and savory baked goods, visitors can expect to have access to a wide selection of sandwiches, pretzels, hot dogs, cakes, cookies, muffins, and so much more.
There’s room for sitting back and enjoying the treats with a cup of specialty coffee too, whatever the occasion may be, the wonderful environment here is dappled with plenty of chairs and tabletops, comfy couches, and artwork.
Java Ranch Espresso Bar
Outfitted with charming frontier appeal, Java Ranch opened in 2000 and has been “Keeping FBG Cowboy” ever since. Its walls are covered in wild-west reminiscent murals painted by the talented Casbeer Brothers, what’s even more fun is the people depicted in these murals are local “Fredericksburgians” – you never know who you might recognize.
As far as java is concerned, they proudly serve fresh Hill Country roasted coffee, along with chai, smoothies, frappes, and lemonade. That’s not to mention the Texas-sourced and imported beers or Hill Country wine.
Sunday Supply

Housed within a highly instagrammable stone cottage just off the main drag, this recently opened, petite java operation is the perfect stop before you hit the shops, explore local Texas wines, or enjoy a picnic amidst scenic views – on that note, they have supplies to build your own lovely picnic.
